Contract packaging equipment
Qualify the production task for each client.
A contract-packaging machine must fit an order book as well as a product sample. Record the client specification, material ownership, contact-part needs and release responsibility before treating two orders as interchangeable. Machine configuration should follow those requirements.
For stick packs, a supplier’s lane count tells only part of the production story. Dosing behaviour, seal acceptance, cleanout and downstream counting affect what can be delivered. Build the pilot around accepted output and retain enough batch detail for the planning and costing teams to use the result.
Prepare capability and cost records
Read the stick-pack equipment guide to define a client-to-machine capability record. Then use the cost-per-stick worksheet to assign setup, production and losses to the batch without using an unproven catalogue rate.
| Record | Prepare | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Qualification | Client product, pack construction, dose and release criteria | Tests the configuration against a specific order |
| Costing | Actual batch costs and accepted sticks | Uses a denominator the production and finance teams can reconcile |
Choose a working record
Use Cost per stick pack: setup, losses and accepted output to calculate cost per accepted stick from defined batch costs, setup work and reconciled output, using a blank downloadable CSV record.
Use Stick pack machines for contract packaging operations to qualify a stick-pack production cell for client products, film, dosing and batch handoffs before treating lane count as order capacity.
